Cliffside Engineering PLLC is a veteran-owned environmental and land use engineering firm. Every project is handled directly by a licensed professional engineer — no account managers, no hand-offs.

The firm is led by Bart Battista, MS, PE. Bart graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1997 with a B.S. in Systems Engineering, focused on robotics and control systems. In 2010 he earned an M.S. in Natural Resources & Environmental Management from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, with a specialization in Ecology, Evolution & Conservation Biology.

Since 2010, Bart has worked across land use planning and regulatory entitlement, environmental management, drinking water systems, wastewater and septic systems, facility and infrastructure management, and the regulatory coordination that ties all of it together. He retired from the Marine Corps in 2015.

How I work

Rural and developing property comes with a stack of overlapping requirements — county planning, state environmental rules, lender and buyer due diligence. My job is to translate that into a clear path and stamped, defensible engineering that holds up with regulators. Because you work with me directly, you get straight answers and a single point of accountability from first call to final sign-off.

Service area

Cliffside Engineering serves Kanab and Kane County, Utah, and the surrounding communities of Southern Utah. If you're not sure whether your property is in the area I cover, get in touch and I'll let you know.
